The Goyo Benito Madridista Supporters' Club, celebrating its 30th anniversary, paid tribute to the legendary Real Madrid player at an event held in Lagartera (Toledo). Eduardo Fernández de Blas, vice-president, Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations, and Real Madrid legends Pirri and José Luis Peinado, who played with Benito, attended the event representing the club. Goyo Benito, who passed away on 2 April 2020, played for Real Madrid for 13 seasons, playing 420 games and winning 6 Spanish League titles and 5 Spanish Cups.
A message of thanks to the supporters from president Florentino Pérez was played during the tribute: "I would like to congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of the Goyo Benito supporters' club. Your supporters' club is a powerful sign of commitment and loyalty to Real Madrid, which has contributed to spreading the values of our club for three decades. You are a supporters' club that we madridistas are especially proud of because you bear the name of one of our greatest legends".
