Real Madrid share their 38th league title with the madridistas
The squad, coaching staff and Board visited the headquarters of the Community of Madrid and City Hall.

Visit to City Hall
The next institutional stop came at City Hall, where there was another exchange of gifts. President Florentino Pérez and Sergio Llull presented a replica of the trophy and a jersey to Madrid mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, who handed the team a replica of the city's famous Bear and Strawberry Tree statue. After enjoying another video of the final series, the madridista captain said a few words: “Thank you for the reception. We're thrilled to be here for another year. We didn't want another year to go by without bringing another white jersey to the mayor, who I'm sure keeps them lovingly in his closet. It's a been a tough season, but we've finished it on a high by winning the league. I'd like to thank the fans as well, it's amazing to be able to celebrate like this with our fans and all the madridistas.”
Florentino Pérez: “It's a historic title for our club”
“Here we are again, at the home of the madrileños, to share our basketball team's 38th league title with the city of Madrid. Many thanks for having us, and for welcoming us so warmly time and again."
“It's a historic title for our club. Real Madrid's basketball team has won its 100th title, since the beginnings of a section has brought so much greatness to our crest and our colours."
Last 15 years
“This team has won 28 trophies in the last 15 years. And this is the seventh time we've won the league in the last 11 years. We have to congratulate and thank a group of players who have given their all to come out on top in a league season that has delivered some astounding numbers. This team won every single one of their matches in the second half of the season."
Praise for the fans
“And I also have some words for our fans, who are the best in the world. Thank you for always being behind the team, and behaving in such an exemplary manner at game after game."
“This league title is for all of our fans. The same goes for all Real Madrid's successes. We work solely to make the dreams of madridistas in every corner of the globe come true. And from this place, we will tell them we'll continue to work hard to overcome the challenges yet to present themselves. Because every trophy, like this 38th league, is a starting point towards clinching the next."
Martínez-Almeida: “We feel proud of all you've achieved”
“We feel incredibly happy to be able to welcome you here, and we're proud of all you've achieved. You have certainly marked my time as mayor; the first public act I presided over, was reception of the Real Madrid jersey, just a week after being in the post. Back then, I already predicted I'd need to get another wardrobe, and now I think I might need several, with all you're winning in recent years."
On Florentino Pérez
“He's the most successful president in trophy terms, in the history of what is a legendary club. I'd like to take this moment to congratulate him."
The demands of Real Madrid
“The hardest challenge you face is exceeding the history of Real Madrid. The toughest rival you face are not your opponents, but rather living up to the expectations of a team like Real Madrid Basketball. You've won more trophies than years active. You've won more leagues, Copas del Rey and EuroLeagues than another other team. You've also managed a 3-0 final victory for the second year in a row and that only adds to the greatness of what you've achieved. You are a source of great pride for the city of Madrid, and we hope you keep coming back for many years. We're sure you'll continue to win great things.”
The event at City Hall also concluded with the traditional family photo.
