The Real Madrid Foundation and the Colombian Learning Service (SENA) have extended their collaboration agreement following the first six months of workshops, webinars and online courses. Julio González Ronco, Managing Director of the Real Madrid Foundation presided over the event and signed this extension which aims to further support the training of professionals and students with limited resources in Colombia. The Sports Values Academy has been extended to include other fields such as psychology and pedagogy, connecting them to sport and the Foundation's educational methodology.
Carlos Mario Estrada Molina, Director General of SENA, and Iker Casillas, Deputy Director General of the Foundation, attended the event. Participants from the first courses were also present. Casillas evaluated the first months of the collaboration: "A clear sign that the project is succeeding is that almost 2,000 people have already taken part in the webinars, courses and online and face-to-face workshops".
Carlos Mario Estrada Molina, Director General of SENA, said: "Together with the Real Madrid Foundation, we share the idea that we can develop human beings through sport in an integral way, with socio-emotional skills that will add value when they reach the labour market and become a role model for their families and communities".
The season will get underway with a new course for SENA instructors called "The Art of Learning", made up of three programmes: the improvement of communication skills; the application of neurodidactics in teaching and the influence of emotions on learning, which will be a means of acquiring the skills necessary to work as an educator.
Along with these activities like the webinars and the different courses, next December, 10 students from Colombia will have the chance to take part in an on-site course at Real Madrid City, where they will apply the theory they have learnt in practical sessions.
