NEWS | 18/01/2020"Baskonia competes very well and we really respect them", commented Laso.
"We've have five games in 10 days and knew that they'd be really demanding. That coincided with an end of December in which we had a lot of injuries and we knew it was a tough period of the year. We've struggled for almost a month, putting in and rotating new players, switching positions, but the team's response has been really good. Our last two defeats in Moscow make you see things differently, but you've got to look at the positives and negatives with a bit of hindsight. We didn't produce the best of performances over there. The first one was very tight and was low socring and we came close to winning, but in the second one, Khmki was very strong".
"Baskonia has competed throughout the whole season, but injuries are taking their toll. Granger and Garino are two key players and that's really hampered their rotation. With such a demanding schedule, they're missing them. They come into it on the back of a comfortable win in Gran Canaria in a tough game after being knocked out of the Copa del Rey. Baskonia retains that competitive streak and we've got to be aware of that from the get-go".
"It won't be an easy game. They've got athletic players all over the court, tall guys, major references on the inside with Shengelia and the three centers, good shooters... It's a very competitive team and we'll have to be very wary and produce a good performance".
"The first thing we've got to do is quickly put the last game behind us. I say that when we win but all the more so when we lose. We need to analyse the good and the bad aspects and keep on improving because this is a different game now".
