The director of Institutional Relations met more than 80 beneficiaries of this training programme in the Honduran city.
Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations for Real Madrid, met with students at the socio-sporting school Formando Campeones, in San Pedro Sula (Honduras), a programme that the Real Madrid Foundation and the Fundación Diunsa have collaborated on. Over 80 children spent and unforgettable morning with Butragueño, who gave them some words of motivation and praised the Fundación Diunsa's hard work as local collaborators of the Real Madrid Foundation. He also praised all the organisations that contributed to the development of such work.
Mario Faraj, president of the Fundación Diunsa, thanked Butragueño for his support and congratulated the Honduran schools. Mateo Figueroa, who is responsible for the Real Madrid Foundation in America was also there, along with representatives of the organisations and companies who support this programme. The students gave Butragueño a piece of woodwork made by the Honduran artist Isaac Bonilla Selther.
Formando Campeones in San Pedro Sula is supported by the local mayor's office, along with Fundación Honduras Investiga, the companies PorsaludLa Colonia Supermarkets and the baking company Panadería Moderna. The beneficiaries are for the mostpart involved with the organizacions Programa Amigos para Siempre (Friends forever programme) and the Fundación Buckner.
Formando Campeones goal is to contribute to the integral education of infants and youths in Honduras who are at risk of social exclusion. By means of training in values and sports. During his visit to Honduras, Butragueño opened the Formando Campeones school in the city of La Ceiba.
