Llull: “We have to go out there with a bit of bite and play tough if we're going to beat CSKA”

“We need to see the Real Madrid from the second game against Panathinaikos”, said Rudy Fernández.
Following their first training session at the Stark Arena in Belgrade, Real Madrid's players spoke to the press ahead of the semi-final clash with CSKA Moscow (Friday, 9:00pm CEST). Llull summarised the key aspects of the game: “The lesson we learned last year is that nobody is going to give you anything for free and we have to go out there with a bit of bite. Everyone wants to win it and CSKA will come up with the bit between their teeth and we have to match their intensity and play tough if we're going to win".

“I would give almost anything. It was our goal to be here and we've managed that after a difficult year, it's been tough with so many injuries. I think the team looks good and is well prepared but a Final Four is never easy. We're extremely hungry and hope we can compete at 100% and get our hands on the trophy”.

Comparisons with Sergio Ramos
“It's high praise to be compared to a player like Sergio Ramos. We've both got character and want to compete at the highest level, we always want to win and we never give up on a game, we always keep fighting to the end for the good of our team”.

Rudy: “We've got high expectations for the match”
“We've really suffered during the Regular Season with so many injuries but I think we've all taken a real step forward, just as the injured players have worked very hard to get back in time. Now we're here with almost everyone back fit and we've got a lot of expectations placed on tomorrow's game. We know it's going to be tough and nobody is going to give us anything on the way to the final”.

Campazzo: “I'm feeling good and my heart's telling me to play, but it depends on the coach”.

“We're two pretty similar teams, and in that sense, whoever has prepared better for the game and is in better shape, will probably win it. We need to see the Real Madrid from the second game against Panathinaikos. We have to be aggressive from minute one because with the talent these guys have, they can hit you with a big run”.

Campazzo: “I feel good and can't wait to get started”
“We can't wait for the game to get going, we're hungry to play. I feel great. The operation was a while ago now. My morale is great, I'm enjoying myself and my heart is telling me to play, but it depends on the coach”.

Final Four in Madrid
“The team may be different but the desire to win things remains the same. Last year we came up a bit short and now we've got another chance. That's basketball and we want to make the most of it”.

Ayón: “We're going all out"
“The team looks very hungry, very focused, we're feeling great. We're going all out. After our experience last year, we have to change mentally. If we're going to win it we'll have to dig in and this team has shown it can do just that in the most difficult moments. We've come out of a difficult situation very hungry and full of energy”.

“We know how strong CSKA are and it'll be a tough clash. If we step off the gas, they're a team full of quality, but that's not going to happen. We're going to be extremely well prepared and we've got as good a chance as anyone. We've fought hard all season and that's brought us closer together and now it's time to show that hunger which will help us lift the trophy”.
