"Juventus put in a great match and we have to improve in the home leg", said Chicharito.
Marcelo assessed the Champions League semi-final first leg in the Juventus Stadium mixed zone: “It was a bad result because we wanted to win, but it's still wide open and we'll do better in the second leg. Juventus are a great side, they wanted to have the ball. We didn't have a best performance today, but we'll have to wait for the second leg. Our fans always get behind us and support us”.

“We know that the boss has confidence in our ability, we know what we're capable of doing in each match; we weren't the best team of all time before this game nor are we the worst after it”.

The goal
“I had a shot on goal, there was a rebound and they caught us on the break. That's just something that can happen during a game, and there is a second leg coming up that I'm certain we'll do well in”.

Marcelo: "It was important to get a goal".

“Carvajal is not the only one of us who feels bad, we all do because we lost. We have total faith in Dani because he's a great player”.

Chicharito: "We fought to the end and the second leg is still to come"
"It isn't a good feeling because we lost the game, but we fought until the end and the second leg is still to come. With a 1-0 win we're through. We have to take it in our stride, as something to learn from, and there are no easy teams in this competition".

"The coach asked us to show the right mindset and to play as we had been in La Liga and against Atlético. The fact that the other team are at home and have an added source of motivation is also a factor. They managed to put in a great match and we have to improve in the second leg".

Coming off the bench
"You have to respect every decision, you have to be professional, although no player is happy about being on the bench".

Next game
"We have to put this result behind us starting tomorrow, and we have Valencia coming up; we're also in the race for the La Liga title".
