The Real Madrid Foundation is organising the ninth edition of the Alma Cup which will be held for the second consecutive year at Real Madrid City. The event will be attended by more than a hundred students from socio-sports schools in Bulgaria, Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Morocco, Romania, Bahrain, Egypt and Jordan (the last three countries are participating for the first time), who will be able to enjoy a multicultural experience over several days of sport and values in order to share their passion: football as a universal language. These countries are joined again by Ukraine, which could not be present last year as a result of the invasion, and whose current involvement is instrumental in improving the emotional health of the beneficiaries.
This year's tournament is supported by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), patron of the Real Madrid Foundation in the Middle East and North Africa. On this occasion, a new feature will be the introduction of the Real Games Card educational tool, which aims to minimise inequalities between teams and boost motivation levels. In addition, there will be a "round the world" challenge in which players from different countries will team up and undertake activities that promote the integration of different nationalities, while promoting the value of self-esteem. The matches will be broadcast live on Sunday via the Sports Values Academy TV interactive platform.
Different activities
These values will be highlighted in football matches and teams will be responsible for assessing and assessing the behaviour of the opposing team. The White Card programme, which recognises positive player attitudes in competition, will also be implemented. In addition to the football matches, the participants will enjoy various activities, including a visit to Madrid and a Got Talent performance among the participants.
The Alma Cup is an example of the Real Madrid Foundation's contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, which include education, equality and health.
