Taking centre stage in the latest instalment of Historic Goals is Félix Ruiz. The midfielder checked in at Real Madrid from Osasuna in the 1961/62 campaign. He earned himself a reputation as a player with immense quality and an eye for goal.
Matchday 17 of the 1963/64 campaign saw Real Madrid welcome Elche to the Santiago Bernabéu and Ruiz’s strike handed the hosts maximum points. Puskas’s cross from the right was flicked on by Amancio and into the path of Ruiz, who planted the ball into the net from around the penalty spot.
