Mbappé is one of 11 nominees for The Best FIFA Men's Player Award 2025. The Madridista won last season's Golden Boot after finishing as the top scorer in European leagues. With Real Madrid, he clinched the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, scoring in both finals. Other nominees include Dembelé, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes and Hakimi (PSG), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Pedri, Raphina and Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Cole Palmer (Chelsea).

The winner, who will be announced at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony on a date yet to be announced, will be chosen by an international jury composed of the current coaches of the men's national teams (one per team), the current captains of the men's national teams (one per team), a specialist journalist representing each team's territory, and fans from around the world registered on FIFA.com. The voting period will end on 28 November.

The nominees have been selected by a panel of FIFA experts for their respective achievements during the period from 11 August 2024 to 2 August 2025, both dates inclusive. The awards are based on sporting performance and overall behaviour on and off the pitch.
