Real Madrid beat Surne Bilbao Basket in style on their return home after four away games on the bounce.

A winning return to the WiZink Center for Real Madrid after two weeks and four away games. The Whites gave their fans their eighth win in the league as Laso's side comfortably beat Surne Bilbao Basket with their best offensive performance of the season and one of their most complete games of the season, winning by more than 30 points in the first half. A three-point masterclass from our team (15/30), with Hanga (5 for 19 points) and Yabusele (4/4 and 18) as the standout performers in that area. Poirier, with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 23 PIR, led the team to another great win.
Bilbao Basket got off to a good start with a 0-6 run. But Real Madrid responded to the wake-up call turned the score around in two minutes with a first 10-0 run. 20 more points were added by the end of the first quarter to double their opponents' score (30-15) with an impressive display in three-pointers (6/9) and led by Yabusele (10 points without a miss), Hanga (10) and Taylor (6).
Madrid on fire
The visitors found it hard work against the best defence in the league. Laso maintained his team's intensity with continuous rotations as Taylor and Causeur worked hard to isolate Goudelock. The team was also solid on the rebound and denied second chances. The pace of play was very good. Causeur and Poirier led a very bright attack as the gap widened. By the 18th minute the lead had reached 29 points (54-25), in what was one of our team's best first halves of the season. 72-20 at half-time confirmed that.

With the game very much in the bag, Madrid controlled the lead comfortably by being solid at the back. They were especially clinical from the outside today and when such a combination appears, it's almost unstoppable for their opponents. The three-pointers continued to drop during the third quarter, two from Yabusele, who went four without missing, and three from Hanga (5/6) for 13. Heurtel and Taylor came into the attack and Madrid reached a +35 at 77-42 in the 28th minute.
Best scoring performance of the season
Madrid ended the game with 95 points, bettering the 94 they got against Monaco. Llull, who Laso rested in the first half, also got involved with the three-pointers, so too did Vukcevic. Bringing up the total to 15 with a 50% success rate. Poirier also continued to add to his stats by dominating the zone (23 PIR in 21:30 minutes). Hanga recorded his best scoring game (19) and our team went on to increase the difference to 36 points just before the end to 95-59 in another excellent game with five players in double digit scoring (95-61, min.40). Another week full of victories after last Friday's win in Munich. Next up on Friday is a home game against Zalgiris (8:45pm CET).
