Real Madrid takes on Valencia Basket in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey, which will be played from 11 to 14 February in Madrid. The knockout game will take place on Thursday 11 at the WiZink Center. If the Whites qualify for the semifinals, the reigning champions will face the winner of the Iberostar Tenerife-Hereda San Pablo Burgos (Saturday 13). The final will be played on Sunday 14 February.
The last time these teams met in this competition was in last year's semifinal, in which Real Madrid, the most successful club in the competition with 28 Copa del Rey titles, won 91-68.
Herreros: "We've been drawn against the worst possible team"
"Valencia Basket has made good signings this year, bringing in experienced players who have competed in the Euroleague. It's going to be a tough tie. Valencia is doing very well and we've got the worst possible draw".
"I don't want to look beyond the quarterfinals because if we lose it doesn't matter who we would have been playing. We've been drawn against the strongest team that we could have got. We've got a very tough week before the Cup, but this is Real Madrid. We're the reigning champions of the Cup and we're going to give it everything we've got".

Herreros: "We're proud of how we're approaching the season".

"It's going to be a very unique Cup. We're used to playing the competition with a full house and all the fans present, but it's going to be a bit sad. We're getting used to these empty halls and there's no other option; we have to carry on. We have to preform as well as we can and forget about this cold atmosphere.
"The team compete whether it's at home or on the road. Despite missing players, we're proud of how we're approaching the season".
