The Whites were crowned champions on 23 May 1993 after downing Joventut in a 78-69 win in Game 5 of the final series.
Twenty-seven years ago to the day, Real Madrid's basketball team captured a 26th league crown. On 23 May 1993, our team clinched the title after prevailing in the fifth and last game of the final series against Joventut. The madridistas came out on top in the first two match-ups, both of which were at home, before Joventut claimed victory in the next two games in Badalona. In the decisive win, a 78-69 triumph, Sabonis was the standout performer for the madridistas, posting 22 points and 10 rebounds. The Lithuanian was named MVP of the final.

Real Madrid was also the top-performing team during the Regular Season, with a record of 25 wins and six defeats. In the knockout stages, the Whites locked horns with Valvi Girona (in the round of 16), Elosúa León (in the quarter-finals) and Estudiantes (in the semis). Victory over Joventut in the final saw Clifford Luyk's charges claim the double that season after also winning the Copa del Rey against the Verdinegros.
