Real Madrid was crowned champions following victory on Barcelona's floor on 10 May 1986.
It has been 34 years since Real Madrid's basketball team captured its 25th LaLiga title. On 10 May 1986, Lolo Sainz's men tasted glory after beating Barcelona in the second game of the final. This was the Whites' third league title success, with the team being the only side to have lifted the crown in the ACB era.

Real Madrid travelled to Barcelona in the driving seat after running out 83-80 winners in the first game. Sainz's troops had the chance to put the final out of their opponent's reach in the second game and they did just that. Barcelona came out all guns blazing and went in at the break with a 41-35 lead, but the madridistas, paced by the excellent Fernando Martín, who posted 26 points and Linton Townes (20 points), produced a fightback to win 86-88 in a thrilling conclusion to the contest.
