Unionistas de Salamanca vs Real Madrid in Copa del Rey last 32

The Whites will play the one-legged tie on Wednesday 22 January in a 9pm (CET) kick-off.
Real Madrid are set to take on Unionistas de Salamanca in the last 32 of the Copa del Rey following the draw held at the Real Federación Española de Fútbol headquarters. Zinedine Zidane's side will make their debut in this year's competition with a one-legged away tie to be played on Wednesday 22 January  on the natural grass pitch at Las Pistas del Helmántico (9pm CET kick-off).

Real Madrid's Copa del Rey opposition currently sit 18th in Group II of Segunda Division B and made it through to this round after knocking out Atlético Baleares (1-0) and Deportivo de La Coruña (1-1 won on penalties). This will be the first competitive meeting between Unionistas de Salamanca and the Whites.

Butragueño: “We're aware of the dangers of the game”
“They're a Segunda B side, but we know what this competition is like, so we must show them utmost respect. We'll play with the focus required by any match and hope to be back here for the next draw. Playing for a place in the next round with a clash away from home mean there's more chance of any result. We have to make sure we're fully focused because their fans will be buoyant and they'll do all they can do make them happy. But when Madrid play, they do so to win games, we're aware of the dangers of both this match and the competition overall".

Unionistas
“They're thrilled, that's to be expected. They started badly in the league but they've looked better recently. They're coming into the game with real excitement. It'll be a party in Salamanca and we'll enjoy it too. The Copa del Rey is an attractive competition and we'll make sure we play it with absolute concentration”.
