In the 1988/1989 season he netted a fantastic strike against Celta at the Bernabéu.
This week's star of Historic Goals is Gordillo. The full-back arrived at Real Madrid from Betis in the summer of 1985. He quickly took charge of the Santiago Bernabéu's left flank, where he stood out for his hunger and commitment. He will also go down in the club's history for his particular manner of wearing his socks pulled down.

In the 1988/1989 campaign, Real Madrid hosted Celta de Vigo at the Santiago Bernabéu on match day 10. The goal we focus on this week was the second of the game which served to increase the Whites' advantage over their opposition. A Schuster cross was turned home in acrobatic fashion by Gordillo, who came from deep to connect with the ball on the penalty spot.
Gordillo made 254 appearances, scoring 27 goals. He enjoyed the most successful spell of his career while at Real Madrid, clinching 10 titles: 1 UEFA Cup, 5 LaLiga trophies, 1 Copa del Rey and 3 Spanish Super Cups.
