From the start it was clear both sides wanted the ball, both teams attacked from the back. The first fifteen minutes was full of chances, Alberto had the first real chance with an arcing shot from the edge of the box. This gave Castilla some hope and they began to dominate and went ahead thanks to some beautiful play between the lines from Cristo, Seoane and Dani Gómez, who fired the ball home (28’). Cristo tried his luck before the break but was kept out thanks to some great reactions from the visiting goalkeeper.
Controversies and madness
The visitors looked more alive in the second half and Casi saw his shot balloon over the top of the goal. The Whites' reacted quickly and De Frutos made it 2-0 immediately after with a right footed shot. Valladolid needed to open up and find some spaces. Despite the youth team having chances to kill the tie, it was the visitors who got a goal on 70’ and then levelled it on 86’, as a penalty was given following a clash between De la Fuente and Alberto. Castilla deserved more from the clash and tried till the last. Cristo managed to prove his mettle on 93’, turning in a shot to send the crowd wild. The game ended 3-2.
