The madridista forward has scored a brace on four occasions this season.Karim Benzema is one of the key men when it comes to Real Madrid's current fine form. His numbers speak for themselves. With 15 goals, he is the Whites' top scorer this season. As well as that impressive feat, his brace in the win over Espanyol meant he has now gone 40 games scoring two or more goals since he first joined the Whites (27 in LaLiga, 11 in the Champions League and 2 in the Copa).
His first brace came in September 2009 against Tenerife. Since then, he has netted two or more goals in at least one game in each of the ten seasons he has been at the club. 2011/12 was his most productive, where he scored at least two goals in eight separate games. This season has seen him rocket home a brace against the likes of Girona, Leganés, Viktoria Plzen and Espanyol.
Impressive stats
Benzema's footballing class is evident when we compare his numbers from seasons past. The Frenchman has already surpassed his total number of goals for last season (12) and he is in his richest vein of form of the last three seasons. At this point in 2016/17 he had fired in eleven and at the same point in 2017/18 he had been on target six times.
