Florentino Pérez presided over the graduation ceremony of the seventh cohort of students from the Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea, an event held at the Santiago Bernabéu which saw 492 students graduate. Miguel Arias Cañete, the European commissioner for energy and climate, was the year group's godfather.

Amongst the attendees were Pedro López Jiménez, Real Madrid's vice-president and president of the executive board at the Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea; Juan Morote, dean of the Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea; Emilio Butragueño, director general of the Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea and the director of institutional relations at Real Madrid; and Francisco López Varas, dean of the School of Sports Science and Physiotherapy at the Universidad Europea de Madrid.

Florentino Pérez: "Your leave here armed with the values of this badge"
"Congratulations because today marks the final step in a journey full of effort, hard work, sacrifices and dreams. Your time at Real Madrid and the Universidad Europea will have taught you lessons in life that'll last forever. You leave here armed with the values of this badge, which are the basis of a club that boasts 116 years of history and is considered as the most prestigious in the world".

"The Decimotercera football triumph and the Décima basketball success are clear examples of our institution's values. It was an unprecedented feat in sporting history and it serves to further enhance Real Madrid's legacy. You're well aware that this club always strives for more. There's no place for complacency here. We're a club that's won 23 European Cup crowns, but this unprecedented trophy haul is our starting point towards big, new challenges".

OUR BADGE WILL GO WITH YOU ON YOUR JOURNEYS AND OUR VALUES WILL HELP YOU RIGHT THE WAY THROUGH YOUR CHALLENGES.

"The Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea has offered you an emotional link to our badge. To date, over 10,500 students have graduated in the various universities located across 12 countries. A total of 1,259 students, 473 in Madrid and 786 across our international campuses and hailing from over 50 countries, have studied on our Master's programmes this academic year".

Thanks to Miguel Arias Cañete
"I wish to offer a special thanks to the year group's godfather for attending today's event. My thanks go to the European commissioner for climate and energy, Miguel Arias Cañete. He's a Spaniard with an international calling, who boasts an excellent professional career and who today acts as a source of motivation for us to continue to progress in terms of our training and your careers. I want to congratulate you once again. Today is a very important day in your lives, which will forever be linked to Real Madrid. Our badge will go with you on your journeys and our values will help you right the way throughout your challenges".

Butragueño: "We recognise your dedication and effort"
"It's a pleasure to be sharing in this event at a place as special as this stadium. I want to congratulate the 492 students who make up this year group. We're here today to recognise your dedication and efforts. One of the defining characteristics of our school is our international spirit. Indeed, 60% of you are foreign students. There are five values which we identify ourselves with: an entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork, integrity, leadership and excellence. Our aim is to instil those values in you. Never cease to continue learning and never give up, follow your dreams. The future is all yours".

Miguel Arias Cañete: "It's an honour to act as the seventh cohort's godfather"
"For me it's a real honour to have been invited by Florentino Pérez to act as the godfather to the seventh cohort of students. We're here celebrating this graduation ceremony in the magical and iconic Santiago Bernabéu. I want to congratulate Real Madrid for having branched out beyond the boundaries of sport by opening this university. Dear graduands, I want to congratulate you. Success in life only comes about as a result of great effort and hard work. It's only by working as a team that great results are achieved. You'll have to work a lot in your lives and you should enjoy it and go about it with excitement".

Juan Morote: "Demands produce success"
"Today is a day of happiness and one on which to give thanks. Dear students, you're part of a unique project, which was launched by Real Madrid and the Universidad Europea. Placing demands is one of the foundations which leads to success. Real Madrid is a role model when it comes to permanently demanding more of itself and setting increasingly loftier targets. Work towards your dreams. Congratulations to every one of you, I wish you all the very best for the future".

Best-rated Master's
During the course of the proceedings, the award for the best-rated Master's degree was presented, with the Máster Universitario en Comunicación y Periodismo Deportivo (Master's in Communications and Sports Journalism) picking up the distinction. The course directors, Javier Vidaurreta and Antonio Galeano, were on hand to collect the award.
