Zidane: "There's one game to go and the LaLiga title race isn't over just yet"

NEWS | 17/05/2017

"He's feeling great and he's shown it again here tonight", declared the Whites' boss.
Zinedine Zidane expressed his satisfaction in the wake of his side's victory at Balaídos, but was nevertheless quick to point out that the Whites still have work to do when they head to La Rosaleda: "There's still one game to go and we have to get something out of it. We must continue on in the same vein because the title race isn't over just yet. It was important for us to win tonight and we're really pleased with the three points. It all comes down to the final game and it'll be tough, just like tonight's game".

"It's a happy dressing room because when you go out and show character and spirit and work hard, that's when you get the three points. They're all happy and in fine spirits. We're going to keep doing what we've been doing up until now. We can't take anything for granted and have to go out and play our game. It'll be tough but we'll try and go all out and we're just focused on winning the game".

Cristiano Ronaldo
"He's feeling great and today he's shown it again here tonight. He has put in a massive shift and worked really hard defensively too. You can tell from the way he's playing that he's in very good nick. For a long time now we've been saying that the team is in good shape physically and today they've proved that".

IT'S A HAPPY DRESSING AND THEY'RE IN FINE SPIRITS; WE'RE GOING TO KEEP DOING WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING.

“We gave it everything we had but we’ve got to recover quickly because we’re back in action on Sunday and it’s the final LaLiga fixture. I took him off because he’s just one yellow card away from a suspension”.

The game
“I’m very, very pleased. We produced a great performance. We were better with the ball after the break, we knew how important it was to maintain possession. We created a lot of chances in the second half”.

“From an outsider’s point of view, I enjoyed watching the team, and I’m sure that everyone who loves Real Madrid have been enjoying themselves for the last nine months, even if there have been some difficult spells. You’ve got to go through tough times if you want to win the league, but you have to enjoy it too. You can tell they’re enjoying their football by the way they’re playing”.

Nacho
“He didn’t play but he’s pleased. It was crucial for him to be here with us. He didn’t start the game and I took Casemiro off because he was on a booking, and then Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo because they were just walking a suspension tightrope".
