The Portuguese defender has played 200 La Liga games with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid beat Éibar in what was Pepe's 200 La Liga appearance with the Whites. The Portuguese defender expressed his happiness with the win at Ipurua: "We knew it would be a tough match because Éibar are a good side, they're aggressive and they really give you a proper game. The work of the whole team played an important role in us picking up the three points. It was a tricky away game but we put in a great shift and played well".

“Not conceding is important and the whole team worked hard to ensure that was the case today. It doesn't matter who comes on as long as they do so with the same intensity and willingness to work for the team. That's what we showed in today's game”.

“He keeps adding to his tally and that's the most important thing. He scored here today and made a big contribution towards us getting the win. We all hope he continues playing like that”.

Ninth season
The defender, who is now into his ninth season at the club, has notched up 156 wins in the championship, during which time he has scored 10 goals. Pepe has made 99 La Liga appearances at the Bernabéu and 101 away from home. He clocked up his highest number of La Liga games during the 2013-14 season, when he played 30 times.
