Today is the 49th anniversary of the 16th basketball Copa title

Today marks 49 years since the Real Madrid basketball team won their 16th Copa de España. On 25 May 1974, our team beat Joventut in a hard-fought final in Alicante. The Catalan team took the first half, going into the half-time break with a two-point advantage (48-50). However, the players coached by Pedro Ferrándiz turned the game around in the second half, completing the comeback to win 87-85.

Brabender, with 20 points, alongside Cristóbal and Rullán, both with 12, were the top performers for the madridistas. The win saw our team get their hands on a fifth successive Copa to round of a perfect campaign in which they also won the European Cup and the League title.
