Real Madrid Castilla picked up their fifteenth win of the season against San Sebastián de los Reyes, their eighth at home and maintain their bid to lead the group. The Whites' win was doubly rewarding as they overtook Deportivo La Coruña (who lost away to Unionistas de Salamanca) to move up to second in the table. Raúl's side, who were very solid at the back, won thanks to an early goal from Álvaro Rodríguez after ten minutes with a shot from inside the six-yard box. The reserve team deserved to win by a bigger margin and could have scored earlier if a penalty had been awarded for an Euse push on Arribas in the 5th minute.
Álvaro's goal did not change Castilla's game-plan and they kept attacking in an attempt to widen the gap. They came close in the 21st minute after Peter's one-on-one with Pedro López, but the keeper was up to the challenge. The visiting keeper was his team's best player and he proved it again thirteen minutes later when he kept out a second attempt at goal in another one-on-one, this time with Nico Paz.

With the score at 1-0 at half-time, the game slowed down after the break, although Castilla continued to create chances with a very active Arribas. The youth player's shot from inside the area crashed into the side netting in the 52nd minute and then, just six minutes later, Pedro López was called into action once again to save his team after Arribas crossed for Álvaro Rodríguez, who was well-placed to nudge the ball home. The reserves had already done enough by this point to deserve another goal, but Raúl's side hunkered down and held on to their lead until the final whistle and were solid enough to finish with a clean sheet.
