The Whites defeated UCAM Murcia to record their second win in the space of three days after an outstanding offensive display. Poirier was the standout performer with a PIR of 23.

Real Madrid rounded off a superb week with their second victory in the space of 72 hours. The Whites convincingly overcame UCAM Murcia at the WiZink Center, where they remain unbeaten in the league and have now racked up four wins on the bounce. Chus Mateo‘s men once again produced an outstanding offensive display and set themselves on course for victory in the first half, as the hosts scored 52 points. Poirier (23 in PIR) and Musa (19 points) spearheaded the side, who ended the clash with six players in PIR double figures.
Real Madrid played with real energy from the tip-off and were ahead on the scoreboard from the start, largely courtesy of Musa’s clinical shooting, as the home side moved 8-2 up in the fourth minute. Tavares and Pustovyi fiercely battled it out under the hoop, as UCAM began to improve defensively and the scoreline stabilised. However, Chus Mateo‘s troops then upped their game to produce a 19-3 scoring run in the space of three minutes. Tavares was unstoppable (8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks in 9 minutes), along with Llull, Hezonja and Cornelie (all three contributing three-pointers) to seal a perfect first quarter (27-9).

Madridista onslaught
The depth of the bench was to be decisive. Madrid seemed extremely comfortable and overpowered their opponents in all areas, especially in terms of rebounding (16). Abalde, Poirier and Llull, among others, kept causing the Murcia team damage and helped to build a lead of 26 points (15th minute). The Whites played aggressively and did not give any concessions to the opposition. Quite the opposite. Poirier hit the 52nd point from the three-point line and enabled the madridistas to go into half-time over the 50-point barrier for the third game in succession.

The pattern of play did not change after the restart. The hosts battered UCAM from the three-point line (52% success rate) led by a sharply focused Musa (14 points). The other good news was Causeur's reappearance after his injury. As the minutes passed, the visitors reduced the deficit, although Madrid countered in the final stretch of the third quarter to bring the third quarter to a close at 71-43.
Exhibition of attacking play
The last quarter of the clash saw a Real Madrid produce an attacking exhibition. Abalde, Ndiaye, Poirier, Hezonja and Causeur refused to ease off and led a 13-2 run in the 34th minute. The madridistas continued to play their game, scoring in the paint and from three-point range. Chus Mateo's charges eventually finished the game with a 36-point cushion and delivered another impressive display for their fans ahead of another demanding week, this time with three games in just six days.
