A convincing win for Real Madrid Castilla sees them extend their unbeaten run at the Alfredo Di Stéfano so far this season. The madridistas got the better of Badajoz on matchday five of the Primera Federación thanks to a brace by Arribas, the standout player on the day, plus another Dotor goal. The visitors scored from the spot late on but our team take all three points to seal a third league win at the start of the campaign.
The early stages of the clash were evenly-matched, with both teams coming close. Dotor had the first chance for the youth team with 9 minutes played as he shot from the edge of the box, forcing the goalkeeper into a fine stop. Three minutes later, the response came with a long-rage effort that De Luis did well to keep out. The madridistas began to exert their dominance, and with 20 minutes on the clock, Álvaro Martín floated in a delightful cross for Dotor, who turned home brilliantly to put our team in front.
Video.3-1: Arribas double clinches Castilla win over Badajoz
Castilla looked to increase their lead before the break and seven minutes after the opener, Peter threaded a pass through to Arribas, who produced a sublime chip to beat Kike Royo in the one-on-one and make it two for the hosts. Then, on the brink of half-time, Noel won the ball back in opposition territory and linked up with Dotor before finding Arribas, who completed his brace to make it 3-0 as the teams went down the tunnel.
Castilla maintain their lead
In the second half, the visitors came out intent on cutting the deficit but De Luis did superbly to deny Zelu in a one-on-one with 48 minutes gone. The madridistas reacted with a lovely piece of play involving Noel and Álvaro, but Arribas' shot flew over the bar before Theo had a great chance to make it four, only to see his strike end up in the goalkeeper's gloves. In injury time, Zelu converted from the spot for Badajoz but ultimately, it was three well deserved points for Castilla at home once again.
