Poirier: “We want to write our names into the club's history books"

“El Clásico is a special game and all the more when it's a EuroLeague semi-final”, insisted the center.
Ahead of his first-ever Final Four, Vicent Poirier sat down with Realmadrid TV and the French center discussed what shape the team is in ahead of the Belgrade showpiece: “I came close to playing it during my time in Vitoria, but Madrid has given me the chance to do so. I’m really happy and hope to win it. The EuroLeague is the second biggest competition in the world. It’s long, really tough and the best teams and great players are involved”.

“We’ve had our ups and downs during the season, but the team has come back even stronger. We know just what an important game it is and we’re all fully aware. The team is raring to go out and perform”.

Inside game
“We know that we’re strong in the paint and on the outside. We’ve got some great players and have to go out and play hard and as a team if we’re to beat Barcelona. El Clásico is a special game and all the more so when it's a EuroLeague semi-final. Everyone can’t wait for it to come around. We have to forget about what’s happened in previous games. This is different, it’s another competition and we’ve got to be ready to fight”.

Rewriting history
“When I joined Madrid, I saw all of the trophies and know that the European Cup is really special for this club. We’ve got two games, two wins and we want to write our names into the club’s history books”.

Message for the fans
