Asvel v Real Madrid: out to clinch third straight EuroLegaue win

NEWS STORY. 16/11/2021. Rodrigo Salamanca

Our team opens a tough three-game week with tonight's road trip (8pm CET).

Tonight sees Real Madrid face the first match-up in a sequence of three games in the space of a week with a trip to Asvel Villeurbanne in Round 10 of the EuroLeague campaign. Pablo Laso's troops will be looking to rack up an eighth victory on the spin and a third straight win in the continental competition (8pm CET).

The madridistas are enjoying a fine November, in which they are unbeaten in the EuroLeague and the Endesa League and will be looking to extend this impressive run against the French team, who have been solid performers on its court (four wins and one defeat). Real Madrid hold the upper hand in the head-to-head record between the two teams, with the Whites having posted five wins and unbeaten in its three visits to the Atroballe since 2000.

Madrid will be up against a very physically strong team, particularly on the low post, which is the area of the court in which the French side feel most at home, with a success rate of 56.2% (the best in the competition), whilst they have some very accurate shooters in their ranks, such as Okobe (19.2 points) and Jones (15.7).
Meeting of considerable stature
One of the other key areas in tonight's contest will be the battle beneath the basket between Tavares and Fall, with both players measuring in at over 2.2m. The Cape Verde-born man is one of the leading lights in attack for Laso's men, with an average of 12.5 points, alongside Yabusele (12.9) and Poirier (7). Real Madrid faces a tough road trip as it bids to chalk up a third successive EuroLeague triumph.
