Chus Mateo: "We just need one more win"

Chus Mateo and Sergio Llull analysed Real Madrid's win over Baskonia in the second game of the Euroleague playoffs. The coach spoke in the WiZink Center press room: "Offensively we were good, but defensively we made an effort to counter the strengths of a great team like Baskonia. They play very well on the counter-attack, shoot very well and rebound very well. In the first half they made 10 of 20. Not because of our bad defence, but because they are capable of scoring. We kept up that pace and if we do that and don't hesitate, even if we make mistakes, we should be in a position to win the game. We believed until the end and we managed to open up a gap."

"It's important to go to Vitoria with a 2-0 lead but it's not definitive. We have to be aware that every game is now a final. It was the first game and we forgot that. It was the second and we're going to forget it after tonight. That's what a playoff is like. We have to get one more. We have to keep the spirit that you saw in the last minute; throwing ourselves to the floor even though the game was won. That makes me proud."

Llull: "We're all healthy, fresh and eager to contribute"
"We're doing well, in a good working dynamic. We're all healthy and fresh at this stage and we all want to contribute. We put in another good team performance, containing Baskonia's strong points. We're happy with the 2-0 and now we're going to think first about Obradoiro and then Vitoria."

"Subconsciously, and as everyone keeps reminding you about the record, you play a little bit with that burden. I'm very proud of the individual awards but what matters is winning and today we played a good game."
