The projects are carried out in partnership with Epicentr for Children.
Some 400 beneficiaries from schools in Kiev, Khmelnitsky, Irpin and Ternopil had the chance to take part in a friendly tournament under the theme ‘I'm Proud of You’, to mark Children's Day, following an irregular season in which face-to-face and virtual sessions were combined as a result of the pandemic. Epicentr K, the sponsor for these projects, was keen to further enhance its partnership with the Foundation this season by launching two new schools in Kiev to help 200 children at risk of exclusion. These schools bring together more than 570 children from Irpin, Khmelnitsky and Ternopil who have been assisted since the start of the partnership in the 2018-2019 season.
The tournament brought immense joy to the beneficiaries, who were socially disadvantaged children. In accordance with the methodology used by the Real Madrid Foundation - For a REAL education: Sports and Values - prizes were awarded to the teams that best represented the values of respect, self-esteem, independence, motivation, companionship, health and equality.

This tournament is part of a series of events organised by the Ukrainian social and sports schools.

Epicentr for Children, a local social entity that collaborates with the Foundation, reiterated its commitment to the promotion of children's welfare, according to the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which recognises children's rights to health, education and protection. Through educational, social and cultural activities, Epicentr for Children aims to improve the lives of those most in need.
Events in Ukraine
This tournament is in line with the various events that have been promoted by the socio-sports schools in Ukraine this season, connected with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN's Agenda 2030, such as International Earth Day and International Women's Day. These events include literary workshops and educational and cultural excursions that complement the project's other educational activities, such as extracurricular classes and English lessons.
