"Gipuzkoa Basket plays quite an open game and we'll have to be wary from the first minute", stated the coach.
Pablo Laso spoke to the media to preview Sunday's Endesa League match-up between Real Madrid and Acunsa Gipuzkoa Basket (8pm). The coach had the following to say: “We know that we're going to have to put in a good performance if we want to win. We'll have to perform well defensively. Gipuzkoa is a team that plays quite an open game and is competing really well and we’ll have to be ready and wary from the first minute”.

“I've got a number of players carrying knocks, we've had a real run of games. We'll have to see how they are all doing for tomorrow. We've qualified for the play-offs, which was our first objective, but you've got to keep going right up until the last game in the regular season to finish as high up as possible. The work that the team has put in is reflected in the Endesa League and we feel as if we’ve been very competitive and we’re lying top”.
Win over Olympiacos
“I feel as if we dominated from the very start thanks to our defense. We didn't perform excellently in attacking terms, we lacked fluidity and freshness, but the team was very focused on what we needed to do to win the game. The boys deserve great credit for being focused, dominating the game, and getting that advantage on the scoreboard… we recorded an important win”.
Chus Mateo at the helm
“He did a magnificent job.  He executed the plan that we’d discussed perfectly. The way that we started the game, our defense and to record that 10-point advantage so early on determined the way the game went. He coped really well with the situations that we’d discussed might crop up. I'm delighted for him. It was a whole team effort, everyone’s important”.
