Butragueño accepted this award, recognising the person or organisation that excels in its contribution to the promotion and encouragement of sport.
The Universidad Europea - Real Madrid Graduate School received the Copa Stadium National Sports Prize, awarded by the Consejo Superior de Deportes, at the 2018 National Sports Awards ceremony, which took place this lunchtime at the Royal Palace in El Pardo. Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid and Director General of the Universidad Europea - Real Madrid Graduate School, accepted the award at a ceremony headed by the King and Queen of Spain.

The Universidad Europea - Real Madrid Graduate School has been recognised "for promoting education, research and professionalisation at a national and international level in all sports-related areas". The 2018 Copa Stadium has been awarded jointly with the Ecomar Foundation. This prestigious award recognises the person or organisation that has excelled for its special contribution to the promotion and encouragement of sport throughout the year.

Butragueño: “We feel really honoured to be receiving this award”
"We began this adventure back in 2006 and believe that we've contributed to the training of many students who occupy really important roles within the world of sport, which was a key objective. However, we had another objective, which related to the international nature of the school and we've certainly accomplished that because 73% of our students come from other countries. They represent over 50 nationalities and we're really proud of that. This award brings a responsibility for the future. We share this award with all of the school's teaching staff and coordinators. This recognition is for them".
