"We're raring to go and are really motivated to get the win in Munich", declared Abalde.
Pablo Laso and Alberto Abalde spoke to the press in the build-up to Friday’s EuroLeague Round 20 match-up between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid (8:30pm CET). The coach commented that: “It's a strange week with the two rearranged games and that changes the feel of things and what we had planned. The game in Munich will be very demanding because Bayern are one of the most aggressive teams in the EuroLeague, they’re very physical and have many athletic players. They’re a team that’s performing very well”.

“After such a long period with a number of games in quick succession we’re now going to see how the team responds to this situation. It's got its advantages and its disadvantages. We’re fully aware that we're heading to a tough floor against a team that's performing to a good standard. As for our players, we welcome back Taylor and Vukcevic. The only player who is still out for us is Llull and we're going to try and get him back as soon as possible”.
“All of the teams in the EuroLeague are showing just how competitive it is. All the teams are competing to a high level, each with their own style. Bayern is lying towards the top of the table and that speaks volumes of the work they're putting in.  It’s an extremely demanding game for us. Seeley offers them a big threat on the outside and Baldwin is a very decisive player. They've got some big forwards and they’re consistent. They’re a very strong all-round team who will force us to perform well right from tip-off”.

Laso: "The team has the duty to continue to grow and improve".

“To be competitive in the EuroLeague we have to perform to our best. We're talking about the best teams in Europe and every game is different. You’ve got to work hard and do things properly and you can never go thinking that you're going to win for this reason or that reason or else you'll end up losing for this reason or that reason. The team’s duty is to continue to grow, keep on improving and be competitive against all opponents, whilst being aware of the standing we’re performing to and the standings prove that”.
Abalde: “We're focused on putting in a good performance”
“This road trip presents us with a major challenge against a Bayern team that's having a great season. They're a really tough, solid and very physical team that will demand that we're at our best. They have Baldwin and Lucic, who are shining in this season's EuroLeague, and they're always backed up by strong players in every position”.
Mentality and keys
“We have to focus on ourselves and playing our game. We’re raring to go and are really motivated to try and secure victory after not having been able to play against Crvena Zvezda. If we manage to be solid defensively, control the rebounds and assert our tempo, we’ll be in with a chance of winning. We’re focused on putting in a good performance, fighting until the end and giving our all”.
