In 1952 they beat Joventut and lifted the second cup, and in 1974 they won the 16th title against the same opponents.
May 25th is a date on which Real Madrid basketball has won two Spanish Cups throughout its history. In 1952 the Whites won their second Cup. One season after winning the competition for the first time, they defeated Joventut in the final, which required two extra minutes of play and ended with a 43-41 victory for the team. Galindez (17 points) was the standout player in this match, which took place in the Alicante bullring.

In 1974, Real Madrid lifted their 16th Cup in another closely contested final in Alicante against Joventut (87-85). With Pedro Ferrándiz at the helm, the team won its fifth consecutive Cup to end a perfect campaign in which it also won the European Cup and the League. At present, the madridistas have won the Cup the most times, with 28 titles.
