The Whites have 20 victories in 26 games. It started with wins over Fenerbahçe and Maccabi followed by three defeats in a row, against Zalgiris, Anadolu Efes and Bayern Munich, which left the Whites in 13th. This was a turning point. From then, they have had a meteoric rise to the top spot on game day 18 after 13 wins in a row to level their best record in history. They are now on an excellent run of five wins, sealing their place in the next round along with Anadolu Efes and Barcelona.
Aiming for the record number of victories in the Regular Phase
Real Madrid managed 23 victories in 30 games in 2016-17. Back then it was a 16-team format. The current format features 18 so the Whites will play four games more and have better chances of getting a club record. Next week's Euroleague double (Olimpia Milán away and Asvel at home), could see them level their record from last season, their second best in the Euroleague.
Eight in a row with Laso
Since 2012-13, Real Madrid have not missed the Euroleague playoffs. In six of the last seven editions they got into the Final Four, winning the tournament twice: Madrid 2015 and Belgrade 2018.
