Perfecting technical-tactical elements
The conference, specialising in perfecting the technical-tactical aspects of football, covered high-level content of interest for coaches, related to physical preparation, educational methodology, and planning and strategy to optimise performance. Furthermore, there was a new addition to the program, with a session on the importance of nutrition.
The modules boasted talks from Jaime Torcal, from Real Madrid's Technical Football Department, and Javier Mallo, first-team fitness coach. The conference also introduced the philosophy of education in values through sport synonymous with the Foundation, and which is fundamental in youth and academy football to ensure players' wholesome development.
The congress also had presentations by Eva Molleja, Real Madrid academy psychologist; Miriam Arnau, Real Madrid youth nutritionist; Carlos Megía Dávila, Santiago Bernabéu delegate; and teachers Javier Durán, from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and Manuel Abad, from the Universidad de Huelva.
Theoretical and practical sessions
The modules took in theory sessions, overseen by Tristán Celador, head of methodology at the Real Madrid academy, and Under-16s coach; Víctor Paredes, Real Madrid Castilla's fitness coach, and Juanjo Crespo, Under-15s assistant coach. They also had the chance to observe an Under-15s training session, led by Gonzalo Cuenca, who then met with the coaches at the convention to explain the details.
The practical sessions were also led by Tristán Celador and Wladimir de Dobrynine, Under-16s coach and assistant. They also looked at matters regarding training materials, presented by Stefan Horzer, of Adidas; and match analysis, delivered by Álvaro Gomar, from the Real Madrid academy.
