Modric's magical year

As well as lifting the Champions League, the Croatian claimed the Ballon d'Or, The Best and the UEFA Men's Player of the Year awards.
The best footballer in the world plays for Real Madrid and goes by the name of Luka Modric. The Ballon d'Or distinction represents the crowning moment of a year that has been full of success and recognition for the Whites' midfielder. Prior to scooping the distinction awarded by France Football, he claimed FIFA's 2018 The Best Award and was named as UEFA Men's Player of the Year for 2017/18.

In addition to this trio of prestigious accolades, Modric was voted as the top-performing midfielder in last season's Champions League and scooped the
Golden Ball at the Russia World Cup. What's more, in November, the IFFHS named him as the Best Playmaker 2018.

Modric has unanimously been considered as the top-performing player after being an instrumental figure for Real Madrid and the Croatian national team in the past year, during which he captured the Champions League and the Club World Cup with the Whites. He was named Golden Ball in Abu Dhabi, whilst he reached the final of the Russia World Cup with Croatia, where he was tournament's standout performer.
