The centre-back lifted the Champions League crown with Real Madrid and the World Cup title with France.
Raphaël Varane will certainly never forget 2018, a year in which the Whites' defender captured the Champions League with Real Madrid and the World Cup with France. A key member of both squads, he has been included in the 30-man shortlist for the 2018 Ballon d'Or, the winner of which will be announced on 3 December.

Just prior to the start of what would prove to be an unforgettable 2018, Varane lifted his third Club World Cup as Madrid tasted glory in Abu Dhabi. Next up, he clinched a Champions League winners' medal, with this triumph representing his fourth continental crown at the age of just 25. The French stopper boasts an impressive trophy haul and he and Sergio Ramos form the best centre-back pairing on the planet. The pair both feature in the FIFA FIFPro World11 2018.

The crowning moment of Varane's dream season came this summer. The central defender marshalled the French backline that secured the World Cup title, with the madridista making seven appearances and scoring once in Russia.
