Real Madrid will face Napoli in the knockout stages of the Champions League. The first leg will be played at the Santiago Bernabéu on 15 February and the return in San Paolo on 7 March.
 
Napoli finished top of their group ahead of Benfica and Besiktas after an agonizing last day. In Serie A they are fourth, eight points behind Juventus. The Belgian, Mertens, with 10 goals, is the top scorer of a side that has the ex-Real Madrid players Callejón and Albiol in its ranks.

REAL MADRID HAVE NEVER LOST TO NAPOLI IN THE EUROPEAN CUP.

It will be the second time that Real Madrid face Napoli in the knockout stage of the European Cup. The previous meeting took place in the first round of the 1987-88 season, with Maradona playing for the Italian side. The first leg was played behind closed doors at the Bernabéu and ended in a 2-0 victory, with goals from Míchel and Tendillo. The return leg was played away from home and ended 1-1 with a goal from Butragueño.
