The shirt is made from plastics intercepted in coastal areas of the Maldives.The game against Sporting de Gijón saw the Real Madrid players wear special shirts made from plastics gathered from coastal areas in the Maldives and containing environmentally friendly materials, as the club offered their backing to an invitiate which bids to save the oceans.
