Real Madrid tonight sealed their passage into the last 16 of the Copa del Rey at the Bernabéu. The Whites, who came into the second leg in a commanding position after having run out 7-1 winners in the first leg, prevailed to claim their fourth win on the bounce and extend their unbeaten streak to 32 games ahead of Saturday's Clásico.

The league leaders got their noses in front within the first minute. No sooner had Cultural Leonesa kicked off than Asensio stole possession and played Mariano in who was left with the simple task of rolling the ball home. The Whites doubled their advantage just after the 20-minute mark. Dani Carvajal whipped in an inch-perfect cross which James headed home from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 on 23 minutes.

Further gals
On 28', James could have claimed his second of the night, but Leandro produced a fine diving save to keep his effort from the edge of the area out. There would however be further goal action before the interval, with Mariano again on target on 42'. Carvajal played in a fine cross and the Dominican international brought the ball down, before smashing it past the visitors' goalkeeper. Yeray González reduced the deficit before the break when he fired home a thunderous effort from outside the box.

Zidane brought on Enzo and Varane in place of Isco and Carvajal respectively. As the minutes ticked by, Real Madrid continued to dominate, as they attempted to increase their advantage. They struck with 63 minutes on the clock after great work from Enzo, who combined with Odegaard, before he played it to Mariano, who found the Frenchman once again. Enzo’s shot across goal from the edge of the area caught Leandro by surprise, to give him a first official Real Madrid goal.

A Mariano hat-trick
The fans who had made the trip to the Bernabéu still had two further goals to enjoy though, and the first came from Mariano as he rounded off his hat-trick. The goal was a product of the academy - Tejero crossed for the Dominican forward to guide the ball into the net with his head on 87 minutes. Then with 90 on the clock, César Morgado turned the ball into his own net. Real Madrid are now into the draw for the last 16 and will discover their opponents on 23 December.
