Real Madrid have played three Champions League matches on this field against Rosenborg.
The Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim is the place where Real Madrid will look to win the European Super Cup against Sevilla (Tuesday, 8:45pm CEST). Opened in 1947 and remodeled on various occasions, it has a capacity of over 21,000 and is one of the biggest in Norway.

Situated in the south of the city, just over two kilometers from the centre, it is the home ground of Rosenborg. Real Madrid have visited the Norwegian team on three occasions in the Champions League. The first time was in November 1997 (2-0), the second in March 2000 (0-1) and the third in Novemebr 2005 (0-2). In that last victory Sergio Ramos captained the side.

Norway international games
Originally this stadium hosted SK Freidig and FK Kvid games. It also had a running track around the outside but this was removed in 2000 when three new stands were built. The Lerkendal Stadion has held Norway international games and will now host the first European club final to be played in Norway. It's the second consecutive summer that Real Madrid have visited Norway after the friendly match last year against Oslo.
