The Madrid legend is the only player to ever win six European Cups.
On 21 October 1933 Francisco Gento was born in Guarnizo (Cantabria). 81 years on from that he is one of the most legendary names in Real Madrid history. The standout titles in his extensive trophy cabinet are the six European Cups he won, making him the most lauded player of all time in the continental competition. Over the course of 18 seasons he played 600 games and scored 182 goals.

Gento currently has the fifth highest number of appearances for a Real Madrid player, only trailing behind Raúl, Sanchís, Casillas and Santillana. After joining from Racing de Santander, he made his official debut for the Whites on 13 September 1953, in a win over Osasuna (2-0). Alongside Di Stéfano, who also joined that season, he helped change Real Madrid forever.

As well as his six European Cup titles, Gento also won an Intercontinental Cup, two Latin Cups, 12 La Ligas, two Copa del Reys and one Pequeña Copa del Mundo (Small World Cup).
