The third Spanish Basketball Cup was won 69 years ago

Real Madrid's won the Spanish Basketball Cup for the third time 69 years ago. Our team clinched the title on 6 June 1954 after overcoming Joventut in the final (56-41). The madridistas, who three years earlier had won the competition for the first time, dominated the decade of the 1950s with a record eight Cup finals, five of which they won.
 
After an evenly matched first half, Real Madrid had the edge after the break going on to win the final at the Frontón Fiesta Alegre in Madrid by 15 points. The standout performer was Galíndez in a team that had Freddy Borrás as player-coach.
