In search of the second win in 48 hours

Real Madrid play their second game in less than 48 hours at the Fernando Martín on league matchday 24 this afternoon following their win over Virtus Bologna last Friday. The Whites go in search of their 20th win in the competition against Carplus Fuenlabrada to ensure that they remain at the top of the table.

Chus Mateo's team have a tough game in the Greater Madrid derby. Although Carplus Fuenlabrada is at the bottom of the table and is going through a precarious patch having lost 16 consecutive games, our team cannot let their guard down, given that they recently made such a huge effort to win on their visit to Virtus Bologna in the Euroleague. There are 11 games left in the domestic competition and the fight for first place is fierce. After eight wins in the last nine games, we are looking to get back to winning ways following the slip-up against Baskonia.

Real Madrid has a positive track record against Carplus Fuenlabrada. In the first round we won convincingly at the WiZink Center by 91-69, with Deck (22) and seven other players scoring in double digits. The rival, however, has been revamped. Quintana is their third coach this season and they have reinforced their attack with Pinder (18.5 points on average over two games) and Horton. They have also strengthened their leadership with Ali, who rounds off a dangerous perimeter with Novak, Marc García and Eyenga.

A great court for us
Madrid will have to prove their status as the highest rated team in the league (106.9) and impose their attacking talent and defensive solidity, as the Fuenlabreños are at the bottom of the league in both scoring for and against. Tavares is the highest rated player in the competition (18.7) while Musa is third in points (15). The Fernando Martín is a favourable court for our side, who have won there in their last five visits. We will try to keep that streak going this afternoon.
