Real Madrid overcame Sevilla (3-2) in a pulsating match played in Trondheim (Norway).

It's been six years since Real Madrid's won their third European Super Cup after beating Sevilla 3-2 in Trondheim, Norway on 9 August 2016. A well-struck shot from Asensio, who was making his official debut as a Real Madrid player that night, put our team ahead.

Sevilla then turned the scoreline around thanks to goals from Franco Vázquez and Konoplyanka, but Real Madrid never gave up and sent the game into extra time thanks to a Ramos header in the 93rd minute. Carvajal scored the winner in extra time to clinch the trophy. This was the second time Real Madrid had beaten Sevilla in the European Super Cup after the 2014 victory.
