Laso, 800 games as Real Madrid coach

The Vitoria-born coach has racked up 21 trophies during his 11-season spell in charge of the Whites.

Pablo Laso took charge of his 800th game for Real Madrid, when the Whites played Maccabi on round 13 of the EuroLeague. As of last season, he is the coach with the most games in the club's history and has won the most, in both cases ahead of Lolo Sainz. With today's win over the Israelis, Laso has now amassed a total of 619 victories, with a 77.3% win rate. His impressive track record includes 21 trophies in his 11 seasons as the team's coach.

Laso was appointed as Madrid's coach in the 2011-12 campaign and his appointment marked the start of one of the most successful periods in the history of the basketball team. The Spaniard guided Real Madrid back to the elite of European basketball and enjoyed his most successful spell in 2014-15 with the five trophies he won between 2014 and 2015. In total, he has won two EuroLeague titles, one Intercontinental Cup, five league titles, six Copa del Rey trophies and seven Spanish Super Cups. He has been voted best EuroLeague coach on two occasions (2015 and 2016) and seven times as best coach of the year by the AEEB (2013, 2015, 2016, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021). He is just one trophy behind Lolo Sainz (22) and six behind Pedro Ferrándiz (27). His 800 games are distributed as follows: league (432), EuroLeague (320), Copa del Rey (28), Spanish Super Cup (18) and Intercontinental Cup (2).
