Garuba makes his debut for Spain

Spain began their preparations for the Olympic Games in Tokyo with a win over Iran at La Fonteta (88-61). The five madridistas part of the squad were all involved in the game. Usman Garuba made his full debut for the Spanish national team, scoring nine points. The 19-year-old Whites' academy graduate has already stood out at youth level, where he won the U-18s European Championship in 2019.

Abalde was the game's top scorer with 13 points and three of four triples. The team's impressive performance was completed by Llull (9 points), Rudy (6) and Alocén. Scariolo's team's next game is a repeat of the clash with Iran at the WiZink Center on Monday (8:00pm CEST).
