The stadium in which the Whites look to win la Decimotercera has a capacity of 70,000.
Real Madrid will look to link the name of the Olimpiyskiy in Kiev to the players who are crafting European legend. A year after winning la Duodécima in Cardiff, Zidane’s team will try to defend the title in what will be the first Champions League final hosted in Ukraine. The game against Liverpool will be played in a stadium with more than 90 years of history, a capacity of more than 70,000 and the place where the Spanish national team won the European championship in 2012.
The Olimpiyskiy is located in the centre of the city, on the right bank of the Dnieper river. Palats Ukraina, the meeting point for Whites fans, is only 15 minutes away on foot. And the Real Madrid team hotel is less than 3 kilometres from the stadium. The team already knows this field from their European clashes against Dynamo Kyiv. The last visit took place in the Group Stage of the 2006/07 Champions League.
2012 European Championship
Opened in August 1923, this stadium was originally built to host the Ukrainian Games. Since then, it has been through several reconstructions. Two of the biggest ones took place before hosting the 1980 Olympic Games and the 2012 European Championship. At present, it hosts Dynamo Kiev and the Ukrainian national team’s games.
