Ramos: "This win helps us out and now we've got to put together another good run"

NEWS | 21/01/2017

"Today's win gives us confidence ahead of the cup clash”, added Lucas Vázquez.
Sergio Ramos was the star of the show, with his brace securing victory over Málaga and the madridista captain reflected on the encounter and his performance in the following terms: "I'm happy to be able to contribute with goals, particularly in games in which we become a little bit unstuck. We came into this one on the back of some tough results. At Madrid, as soon as you lose one game the rumours start to surface. You've got to be able to dig in and it's a long old road".

"We've made a very good start to the season and we've got to remain united during the tough times, which in our case is whenever we lose a game. The Madrid fans are very demanding. Today's win gives us a boost and what we've now got to do is put together another good winning run".

Attentions turn to Copa del Rey
"Winning football matches always helps after our previous two games. The rumours are rife at the Bernabéu and things are said, but we've got to overcame those with wins and just keep on going. There's no time to dwell on disappointments".

The celebration
"That was all because a rapper friend of mine is here visiting and in particular it was for my Mum. I don't want to be creating any more controversy. She's the one that ends up having a tougher time of things because at the end of the day, that's what mothers are like. I wanted to dedicate it to my Mum and my friend".

Bernabéu
“Nobody can change our fans and that's just the way we want it. They're very demanding. They've been demanding of everyone here for many years, and it's brought the best out of people, but there are times when showiaffection can be more productive. I'm not in a position to be telling the fans how to react, we respect their response because they want to see the best of Real Madrid. We all need to help each other out in order to achieve our aims”.

Navas: "Our aim is to be champions and that means winning every game".

“The way things are with so many games and little recovery time between them, coupled with the immense physical demands, it takes its toll on the body.  We hope to have every member of the squad back as soon as possible because there's a long way to go”.

Lucas Vázquez: "We needed that for our confidence"
“It’s a great win that we needed to breed a bit of confidence ahead of Wednesday’s game in the Copa del Rey. We’re really happy to have picked up these three points. Getting to this stage of the season as league leaders shows that we’re doing a good job. It’s crucial that we keep this up if we want to win games and ultimately win the league”.

Playing at right-back against Málaga
“In this team, with the quality of the players around me, it’s easy to play in any position”

Upcoming Cup clash
“We’ll need to put in a disciplined performance from the start and go out to get as many goals as we can, and together we’ll try our best to get the win”.

Navas: “We won a difficult clash”
"It was a tough game. Of late, we haven't been dominating games as we did earlier on in the season, but we appreciate that during the tough times we still have to pick up the points. Today we've managed to do that and we're happy. Our aim is to be champions and we have to win every game. We want to win our games by playing good football, but that's not always possible".

Current form
"We're taking things step by step and we've now put the defeats behind us. I'm certain that better times lie ahead and that we're going to put in better performances. We're relaxed and are going to continue fighting as we have been up until now. We'll go out to win games whenever we go, whilst being gracious and working hard".

His role between the sticks
"I'm really relaxed. I train hard and always put the effort in and I try to help the team, as I did today".
