The 2015-16 Real Madrid side were convincing and gave a display of their attacking prowess at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Madrid had a brilliant win against Manchester City in their second preparation match and also won the the International Champions Cup that was being held in Australia. The game had a much higher pace than the one against Roma and was decided in four spectacular minutes by Rafa Benítez' side. The period came between the 21' and 25' minute during which Hart was beaten twice.

The dominance began to become evident 20 minutes into the game. From that moment onwards, the Whites unleashed a storm and showed their superiority in a masterful move. It was started by Carvajal with a great maneouvre to get away quickly from Nasri. Bale continued the move with a measured right-footed cross and Benezema added the finishing touch, an acrobatic shot with his back to goal and without letting the ball bounce.

Benzema's skill for the first goal was spectacular but Kroos was not far behind with his assist for the second. The German got the ball a metre from the halfway line, looked up, saw Cristiano Ronaldo was unmarked and sent the ball to his feet. The Portuguese player did the rest. He controlled the ball on the penalty spot and increased the Whites' lead, that was to be further extended in the 44' minute. Isco took the corner and Pepe, coming in from behind, surprised everyone with a great header. Benítez' laboratory is starting to show its first results.

Things would change again before the break. Machester City reduced the deficit in time added on. The Japanese referee Kimura pointed to the spot and gave a penalty after a move between Ramos and Sterling, where the Whites captain hit the ball with his hand outside of the area. Yay Touré converted the penalty.

    Casemiro made his debut
Casemiro came on for Modric at half-time and played his first minutes in a pulsating match where Madrid had three consecutive chances to snatch their fourth goal. First, in a strict offside call on Cristiano Ronaldo in the 58' minute that stopped him scoring an easy goal; then in a one on one again involving the Portuguese player following a great pass from Bale in the 60'. That lead to a corner and a Varane header from the penalty spot a minute later.

The goal did arrive thirteen minutes later. Isco made a move into the area and conjured up a fantastic assist for Cheryshev, who only had to guide the ball into the net to close out a spectacular game for the Whites. Madrid handed out a thrashing and were convincing against opponents who have more preseason preparation under their belt.
